Three units, which are resembling standard record players, translate concentric visual patterns into control signals for further processing in any music software. The rotation of the discs, each holding three tracks, can be synced to a sequencer.

The Berlin-based studio The Product for “spatial and media-related design” created the Soundmachines for VW’s premiere of the 2012 Beetle at the IAA Motor Show.

Augmented reality. 80’s style.

Garnet Hertz’s video game concept car combines a car-shaped arcade game cabinet with a real world electric vehicle to produce a video game system that actually drives. OutRun offers a unique mixed reality simulation as one physically drives through an 8-bit video game.

I’m having a hard time deciding if it’s awesome or ridiculous but funny.  The only thing that would make this video better is if they had footage of him running into a parked car.

Chris Bangle on great cars are Art

“American designer Chris Bangle explains his philosophy that car design is an art form in its own right, with an entertaining — and ultimately moving — account of the BMW Group’s Deep Blue project, intended to create the SUV of the future.”

Chris Bangle was also one of the first car designers that applied the architectural concept of deconstructivism to automotive design.
