Mixing photography and imagination Spanish photographer Rafa Zubiría created Zooo as a series of surreal floating animal habitats. This collection seems to be a continuation of his No Way Home series of floating buildings, homes and structures.

This afternoon I stumbled across the amazing relief paintings and installations by Gregory Euclide. The piece above, ”what clouded my receiving hand is the way I own sensation”, was created with acrylic, baby’s breath, found foam, mylar, pencil, pine needle, seedum, sponge, and vellum.
Below are a few other examples of Gregory’s work, including the album art for the upcoming Bon Iver album coming out tomorrow.

Matthew Buchanan on Matta’s new video “Release the Freq” -
New on Nice Type: the music video for Matta’s “Release the Freq”, beautifully directed, shot, edited and animated by Norway’s Kim Holm. Sure, we’ve seen this style before, but it’s seldom executed with the attention to detail seen here.
“We are Ursa Major, The Great Bear. We make stellar skincare products for men who live.” Austin based design studio PTARMAK created this fantastic identity package for the new men’s skin care line URSA MAJOR. I’m always a sucker for natural textures and simple overlays.

Arnþór Ævarsson managed to capture both the Northern Lights and spewing lava in this incredible photo. Talk about being at the right place at the right time.
As a prelude to the current massive volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajökull causing extensive air traffic disruption in Europe, a moderate eruption took place just days before on the east side of the volcano. The location provided an opportunity for up-close encounters with picturesque craters and lava flows, in contrast to the inaccessibility of the following eruption site at the top of the volcano. With a team of Jeep enthusiasts and other photography nerds, I was able to travel to the remote site of the eruption. …
At the farthest northern tip of Europe you will find the Nordkyn peninsula where nature rules every aspect of the land and daily life. Oslo-based design firm Neue Design Studio created a new dynamic identity system for Visit Nordkyn that is designed around the ever changing elements.
The visual identity is based on two main ingredients; our newly developed payoff, “Where nature rules,” and weather statistics from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. A feed of weather statistics affects the logo to change when the direction of the wind or the temperature changes. On the website, the logo updates every five minutes. We developed a logo generator where Visit Nordkyn can download their logo to the exact weather conditions of that particular moment. Nordkyn is truly a place where nature rules, even over the visual identity.

I’ve always been intrigued by what happens below the surface, like what’s happening where we can’t see.
Photographer Mark Tipple documents below the surface as swimmers play in the Australian waves. Read more about the project and order prints from The Underwater Project.
